​Indian Women Cricket Team's Captain. Padam Shri and Arjuna awardee as well as the captain of Indian Women's Cricket Team. Mithali is the driving force behind the team and has been a proven leader in Women's Cricket over the last decade. 

Mithali had a prolific 2015 in which she received the Padma Shri Award and was the first women to win the Wisden India Cricketer of the year. Under her captaincy, India achieved a historic feat of winning the T20 series against Australia in Australia.

​Mithali burst into International Cricket with an unbeaten 114 against Ireland in Milton Keynes. Since then, she has been at the forefront of women’s cricket globally. Mithali’s reputation was cemented with her double-century against England in 2002, the first ever woman cricketer to score a double century in any format of the game.

Three years later, Mithali was handed the captaincy amidst a lot of Senior Cricketers like Anjum Chopra and Neetu David. She successfully reached the Final of the 2005 World Cup only to lose to Australia at the final hurdle. Mithali continued her captaincy and led India to a third place finish in the following 2009 Women’s World Cup.

With almost two decades at the International circuit, the Padma Shri and Arjuna Awardee has been the face of Indian Women Cricket throughout its transformation. Mithali has an average of 51, 50 and 38 in Tests, ODIs and T20s respectively and is only the 2nd Cricketer to surpass 5000 Runs in ODIs and first Indian women to do so.

The 34 year-old is now all set to represent India at the 2017 Women’s World Cup and would be gunning for Glory.
