VVS Laxman - Profile

V.V. S Laxman is a renowned former Indian international cricketer. A right-hand batsman known for his elegant stroke play, V V S Laxman played as a middle-order batsman in Test cricket. VVS Laxman is one of the few players to have played 100 Test matches.

In a rich career spanning over 16 years (1996- 2012), VVS Laxman has played 134 test matches, and is the fourth highest run getter in Indian Test Cricket scoring 8781 runs. His 281 is rated by many as the best ever innings played by an Indian bat. Apart from his superlative performance against the Australians, there are many match winning knocks from Laxman’s blade including the ones overseas against West Indies, South Africa, New Zealand & Sri Lanka. VVS Laxman is renowned to have turned around many test matches and his performances in the second innings, when it really mattered, are well acknowledged. One can never forget his batting with a runner due to back spasms, and conjuring a magical unbeaten 73 in a thrilling run-chase in Mohali to beat the Australians.
